The proof approval process follows five steps from artwork to sign-off. Each step happens before the patch is moulded, and each one gives you a chance to check the design.
- Artwork review and proof preparation — Our design team receives your artwork as a vector file, a photograph or a sketch. The team cleans the file, sets the dimensions and assigns a Pantone reference to every colour. This produces a production-ready layout ready to render.
- Digital proof delivered — You receive the digital proof by email. The proof presents your patch at the correct size, in the correct colours, with the chosen relief and backing noted alongside.
- Customer review and feedback — You review the proof against your original design. You inspect the colours, the size, the text and the outline, then reply with your approval or your requested changes.
- Revisions applied — Our designers edit the proof and send an updated version whenever a change is needed. Revisions continue until the proof matches your brief exactly.
- Final approval and sign-off — You confirm the proof in writing. Approval locks the design and releases the order into production.

What to Check Before You Approve Your Proof
Check every attribute of the proof before you sign it off. Approval is final, so a careful review now prevents a re-mould later. Verify each of the following:
Colours — match every colour on the proof against its Pantone reference. Pigment runs through the full depth of a PVC patch, so the colour you approve is the colour you receive.
Dimensions — confirm the size. PVC patches are produced between 25mm and 200mm, measured as the average of width and height.
Text height — check that every line of text stays legible. 2D patches hold text down to 5mm, and 3D patches down to 6mm.
Shape and outline — confirm the die-cut outline follows your artwork. Custom shapes are cut to your design at no extra tooling cost.
Relief — confirm the construction. 2D relief finishes flat on top, while 3D relief is sculpted and rounded across multiple heights.
Backing — confirm the attachment. Hook-and-loop, sew-on, adhesive and plain backings each suit a different use.
Everything you confirm on the proof carries through to the mould. Nothing is added or altered after approval, which is exactly why the checklist matters before you commit.

Approval starts the production clock. Standard production runs 10 to 14 working days from proof approval, and express production runs 5 to 7 working days. The turnaround begins at approval rather than at enquiry, because mould engraving cannot start until the design is confirmed. After sign-off
What Happens After You Approve the Proof
Production begins the moment you approve the proof. Engineers engrave your approved design into a metal mould, operators pour the liquid PVC one colour at a time, and the filled mould cures under heat until the rubber sets. Your approved proof stays on file after production. A reorder of the same design uses the existing mould and the same colour references, so the second run matches the first without a new proof.
